How the service works

Ocoee Express Plumbing is a dispatch service for homeowners and small businesses in Ocoee and the nearby Orange County towns. You call (321) 463-9969, describe the problem, and the plumber on the line decides whether it is an emergency, a same-day job or something that can be scheduled.

We do not run a web form on purpose. A form cannot tell you to shut off the main valve while water is pouring through a ceiling, and a phone call can.

Who does the work

Licensed and insured plumbers are dispatched to each job. Florida requires plumbing contractors to hold a state license, and the Department of Business and Professional Regulation lets anyone verify a license by name or number at myfloridalicense.com. We encourage you to do that with any plumber, ours included.

We do not publish a list of individual plumbers or claim credentials on their behalf, because the person who arrives is the one whose license you should check.

How pricing is handled

You get a clear price before work starts. The plumber looks at the problem, explains what is wrong and what each fix would involve, and you decide. If the scope changes once a wall is open or a camera is in the line, the new price is explained before the work continues.

Prices depend on access, parts, the age of the system and whether a permit is needed, so we do not quote a number over the phone for a problem nobody has seen. Our service pages describe the cost factors for each type of job.

What we will not do

We will not tell you a gas smell can wait. If you smell gas, leave the building and call the gas utility or 911 from outside before you call a plumber. We will not diagnose a sinkhole, a foundation problem or a structural crack, and we will say so when a symptom points to something outside plumbing.

We also will not promise an arrival time on a night when the roads are flooded or every crew is already out. You will hear a realistic window instead.

Where we work

Dispatch covers Ocoee and the neighboring towns of Winter Garden, Apopka, Windermere and Pine Hills. The full list of ZIP codes sits on each town page, and the service areas page explains how coverage works for places outside them.

For a problem on the city side of the meter, the City of Ocoee Utilities Department is the right contact. Its after-hours emergency number on ocoee.org is 407-428-5766, and the daytime utilities line is 407-905-3159.

What to have ready when you call

A good call takes about two minutes. Tell the plumber what you see, hear or smell, where in the house it is happening, and whether water is still moving. If you can reach the main shutoff without standing in water, close it before you dial. Mention the age of the water heater if you know it, since a tank near the end of its life changes the advice.

Have the street address and the nearest cross street at hand. Ocoee has newer subdivisions where a mailing address and a map pin do not always agree, and a cross street saves a wrong turn.

How to judge any plumbing quote

Whoever you hire, ask four things before work starts. What exactly is wrong, and how did you confirm it. What does the fix include, and what is left out. Does the job need a permit, and who pulls it. What happens to the price if the plumber finds something else once the pipe is exposed.

A plumber who answers those four questions plainly has told you most of what you need. One who avoids them has told you something too. Florida law also lets you look up a contractor license and any recorded discipline on the state lookup, which takes a minute and costs nothing.

Why the guides on this site cite public sources

The service, town and blog pages lean on city utility reports, county planning documents, state agencies and the National Weather Service instead of marketing claims. Where a source is old or only covers part of the area, the page says so. Where we could not find an answer, such as a water hardness figure for a particular town, the page says that too and suggests how to check it yourself.

These pages explain how plumbing problems tend to behave. They do not replace an inspection, and they do not describe your particular house. Only a plumber standing in front of the problem can do that, which is the reason the phone number is on every page. If a guide here seems out of date, tell the plumber on the line and we will check it against the current source.
